To capture a smile; by no means an easy thing. That’s why photographers exist. Not just to record the moment, but to make the person smile and laugh. Or, if shooting for a different tone, to make the subject fit the part. Photographing portraits is similar to directing a movie scene–the director positions the talent, triggers the camera, and decides on what looks best. And like a good director, good photographers are not jerks. Being easy to work with is the key to creativity.
